la bella figura…or what I learned in Italy part 2
as i mentioned in my previous post about italy, i was completely taken with the italian philosophy of la bella figura. it is the idea that beauty should be inherent in all things: food, clothing, work, relationships, and manners. i was so taken by how it was knit into the fabric of daily life. when it comes to style – and i mean style in the all-encompassing sense of taste – the italians have a monopoly. they truly seek beauty in all things. here are some of the style essentials i most admired about the citizens of that fine country.
